Nowadays, "artificial intelligence" is no longer an unfamiliar novelty. Despite this, AI continues to maintain high popularity across various fields, and the life sciences industry is no exception. From May 29-31 in 2024, the twelfth China Pharmaceutical Decision Science Summit & CphMRA Annual Meeting with the theme “AI + Pharmaceuticals” grandly opened in Nanchang, Jiangxi.
As a pioneer in digital intelligence within the life sciences sector and a long-time friend of CphMRA, Medomino was once again invited to attend this year’s event. They shared how they utilize NICE+AIGC to help pharmaceutical companies achieve precise marketing through digital intelligence transformation.
Through communication with many friends in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, we have observed that while individuals are often willing to embrace the changes brought by AI, things become much more complex when viewed from an enterprise perspective:
- They need to consider immediate benefits;
- They also need to account for costs related to human resources, materials, and finances;
- Additionally, they must navigate coordination with management as well as other departments.
We later discovered that these concerns are not isolated cases but common among many. Therefore, after evaluating multiple AI tools and conducting in-depth interviews with several partners in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, we summarized a consensus on various application scenarios of "AI + Medicine." At the conference, Mr. Lu suggested “Four Dos and One Don’t”:
High Business Value - Do it!
Start with tasks that can quickly yield results and allow the business team to immediately perceive value.
High Fault Tolerance - Do it!
Defer highly demanding requirements for now; prioritize tasks with high fault tolerance.
Wide Application Scope - Do it!
Don't be like a robot vacuum that only cleans; we should focus on projects with broad application scopes.
Upward Management - Do it!
If this task holds value for your boss's boss, just do it—unless the project might replace you.
Repeated Fine-Tuning? No! Don't do It.
No matter how beautifully crafted sand sculptures are by the sea, one wave (iteration of large models) will wash everything away.
Perhaps, after reading this, you're still unsure about how to integrate AIGC with your business needs or which AI capabilities are suitable for you. You might also be hesitant to take action.
In that case, feel free to contact me so we can discuss it further!
